KG Unit 3 Week 2 — My Country

Children build an introductory picture of India through its map, flag, symbols, monuments, states, and languages. Collaborative art, pretend travel, music, number comparison, phonics, movement, and fireless cooking connect national identity with hands-on learning.

What children learn

  • Identify India on a world map and explore its states.
  • Recognise the Indian tricolour and selected national symbols.
  • Discover important monuments in India.
  • Appreciate the diversity of languages spoken across the country.
  • Compare number quantities while building vowel "u" blends and writing Pp.

Key activities

  • Assembling an Indian map puzzle and discussing the states
  • Making a collaborative Rangoli with chalk and coloured powder
  • Exploring the tricolour, national symbols, monuments, and Indian languages
  • Taking part in Airport Pretend Play and a noisy-running mindfulness activity
  • Comparing numbers with cards, a hungry-alligator game, and build-and-compare tasks
  • Playing drums and making Chana Dal Ladoo

world and Indian maps, Indian map puzzle, chalk and colourful rangoli powder, flag and national-symbol visuals, paper and art supplies, letter and number cards, dramatic-play props, chana dal ladoo ingredients
