KG Unit 3 Week 6 — Seasons

Children compare five seasons through their weather, clothing, activities, and visible effects on the environment. Matching games, seasonal art, pretend play, number ordering, phonics, movement, dance, and cooking help them connect the yearly cycle to familiar experiences.

What children learn

  • Name and compare summer, monsoon, spring, autumn, and winter.
  • Associate each season with characteristic weather and climate conditions.
  • Discuss seasonal clothing, activities, and changes in the environment.
  • Arrange numbers in ascending and descending order.
  • Read selected CVC word families and practise writing Tt.

Key activities

  • Matching season and weather flashcards in a Find Your Partner game
  • Dividing a picture into four sections to create Seasons Art
  • Investigating summer, monsoon, spring, autumn, and winter
  • Painting a snowstorm with unconventional tools such as feathers and bubble wrap
  • Taking part in Going on a Picnic Pretend Play and number-order games
  • Making Cornflakes Chaat in a fireless cooking activity

You’ll need

season and weather flashcards, paper and pencils, crayons and paint, tape, cotton and glue, snowstorm pictures, feathers and bubble wrap, cups, blocks and number cards, picnic props, cornflakes chaat ingredients

Structure: 5 days; each day: Thought of the Day, Tuning-in Time, Warm-up, Social Studies/Science, Creative Learning, English, Maths
